When I was offered to try the Shark Stratos™ Cordless Pet Pro Vacuum Plus I must say I was very keen as I was looking for a new vacuum to help me battle the constant influx of Dusty fluff. From the moment it arrived, the Shark Stratos™ vacuum cleaner impressed me. Packaged with care, every part was individually wrapped, and nothing was broken or missing. Once unpacked, assembling the vacuum was a breeze – and I was ready to test it out in no time!
First Impressions: Quick and Easy Setup
The Shark Stratos™ came with two partially charged batteries and popping them onto the double charging unit was a simple click-and-go process. I was immediately impressed with how intuitive and user-friendly the design was, even before I switched it on. The easy display on the handle shows the different suction modes and you can keep an eye on the battery charge at the same time.
Performance That Packs a Punch
Now, let's talk performance! I had vacuumed the night before with my old vacuum, thinking my that my carpet was clean. But when I ran the Shark Stratos™ over that "clean" carpet, I was amazed and slightly mortified. It sucked up an incredible amount of dirt, cat fluff, and hair that I didn't even know was there.
I decided to put it to the ultimate test. Our cat, Dusty, loves to sleep in a particular corner of the living room. I purposely left this area un-vacuumed for a few weeks to see how the Shark Stratos™ would handle it. After just one swipe, it picked up the cat fluff exceptionally well – something my old vacuum would have needed multiple passes (and a helping hand!) to achieve.
Pet Hair, Beware!
The Shark Stratos™ comes with a motorised pet tool which it says is good for pets, I agree this attachment made cleaning Dusty's favourite seat an absolute breeze. It happily sucked up the fluff with ease, leaving the fabric looking fresh and clean. Even the tough spots by the ranch slider skirting – where my old vacuum struggled – were no match for this vacuum cleaner. It took a couple of passes due to the skirting, but it still performed 1000% better than my previous vacuum.
A Whole House Transformation
Feeling adventurous, I decided to vacuum the whole house. The amount of dirt and hair the Shark Stratos™ picked up was astounding. I agree that their self-cleaning brush roll plus picks up hair efficiently and far better than my vacuum ever did. The more I vacuumed, the more I realised just how dirty my carpets had been. Now I never knew that vacuum cleaners have advanced to the point that they come with odour neutraliser, but this one does and it’s a total win! It left the house smelling fresh and inviting, and the pleasant scent lingered long after I finished cleaning.
Stick Vacuum Converts the Sceptic
As someone who always gravitated toward barrel vacuums, I was a bit sceptical about how a stick vacuum would perform, especially manoeuvring under tables and chairs. But the Shark Stratos™ passed with flying colours – easily gliding under the dining table and chairs without missing a beat.
What really surprised me was the vacuum's power. Running it over our well-worn hall carpet made the pile pop back up like new! The vacuum senses how much power is needed based on the level of dirt, and it was both cool and a little disturbing to hear it ramp up in different areas of the house. The vacuum has three suction modes, ECO Mode, Clean Sence IQ alongside a Boost Mode, which was definitely well used during this trial!
Convenience and Clever Design
Emptying the Shark Stratos™ was a dream – no more dust flying everywhere, unlike with my old vacuum. And it takes up so little space in the closet, making it easy to grab and go. The batteries last well and I was able to clean my whole house on one vacuum, the best thing is if you do run out of charge you have a second battery already charged up and ready to pop into the vacuum. The only minor concern I had was regarding the hinge where the vacuum stick flexes, but I'm confident the designers have thought this through.
Final Verdict: A Vacuum That Makes Cleaning Enjoyable!
Overall, the Shark Stratos™ is an awesome stick vacuum that is powerful, easy to use, and makes vacuuming far more enjoyable. Vacuuming has always been my least favourite chore, but I find myself reaching for the Shark Stratos™ more often than I ever did with my old vacuum. If you're looking for a vacuum that will handle pet, and human, hair and suck up fine dirt and dust from your carpets, I wholeheartedly recommend the Shark Stratos™. I truly cannot fault it!
